fide-album-photoThe results of the FIDE Album 2013-15 section E (helpmates) are ready!

An impressive number of 2583 entries (incl. duplicates) were received and they were split in three groups: E1 for h#<=2, E2 for h#2,5 and h#3, and E3 for h#>3. The h#2s dominated once more. In each group there were three judges with each team of judges working independently. 2027 entries scored at least 4,5 points (78,5% of the total entries, a decent ratio for such a popular genre). 305 problems scored at least 8 points, which represents a reasonable ratio of 15% selected problems; of course the respective ratio varies in the three groups. Full statistics are given in the page of the results.

Many thanks to the director and the judges for their hard and efficient work!

fide-album-photoThe results of the FIDE Album 2013-15 section A are ready!
One of the initially appointed judges had to quit for personal reasons before the evaluation phase starts and had to be substituted by a reserve judge. Update (02.07.2017): Thanks to the director’s effort, the composer changed his mind; we are glad he did. The results were updated accordingly.

FIDE ALBUM 2013-2015 – Results in section D

fide-album-photoThe results of the FIDE Album 2013-15 section D are ready!
The initially appointed director had to quit in the middle of the process for personal reasons; in agreement with the spokesman of the studies committee, Siegfried Hornecker was selected as a substitute who wrapped-up the so far available material and finalized the work on time. There were 580 compositions scoring at least 4,5 points (out of the totally submitted 834 entries, incl. duplicates) – a rather moderate percentage of 70%. The 13,97% ratio of studies with 8+ points vs. the entries with 4,5+ points was marginally lower than 14%, so also the compositions with 7,5 points are selected.

Many thanks to the director and the judges for their hard and efficient work!

All announced results are published in the FIDE Album 2013-15 finished sections page.

FIDE ALBUM 2013-2015 – Results in section H

fide-album-photoThe results of the FIDE Album 2013-15 section H are ready!
Retro composers have always been careful to select their highest-quality compositions to be considered for the album and the 2013-15 cycle could not be an exception. 88.8% of the submitted entries scored at least 4.5 points and 27.5% out of them were selected. The figures are impressive even if the absolute number of entries is limited, which obviously helps in having such high percentages.

Many thanks to the director and the judges for their hard and efficient work!
